I feel that every guy should have a good chili recipie in his pocket for cold winter days. I made my annual batch today and I must say it came out to be one of my best. I tweak it every year an add something different or change quantities. How do you guys like your chili? I like mine meaty and spicy. Here is my standard recipie (Note - spice quantites are approximate as I usually just shake until I feel it is right): You will also need a pretty big kettle pot, I have a 3 gallon pot.
Brown meat and drain. Add onion and garlic and heat until onions begin to weep. Add all other ingridients (wash beans thouroughly first). Mix thouroughly and bring to boil. Once boiling reduce heat, cover and simmer for 2-3 hours. Add shreaded cheese to a bowl and enjoy. This makes a lot but it freezes really well and can be eaten all spring. -------------------- ![]() |

I go a little simpler in my chili plans... largely because I keep the volume down so it'll fit in a crockpot that I can ignore all day
